With Dave being away the Tuck Shop King grasped the opportunity to trial new opening hours. Having opened at the usual 7:30pm and dealing with the initial rush he decided that any late stragglers could still make use of the shop, leaving the till open for a further 15 mins. It is felt this was just a blatant opportunity to grab last minute Christmas spending....
In honour of the Tuck Shop King a Wordsearch has been created for the beginners group combining Chess terms and treats found in the Tuck Shop....wordsearch file can be found on the Homepage.
The Tuck Shop welcomed some new members this week. Mr Ripple and Mr Boost Tuck Shop King is analysing the sales figures to ascertain if these product lines are viable to continue with.
Over the last 2 weeks we have seen 12 new members turn up to play or learn how to play. We can always cope with more though so tell your friends or family about our little club!!!
The MCF Winter League fixtures are now on the website with the Stockport League fixtures to follow shortly. If you would like to play more regularly then just ask!!!
Dave returned to the club and normal order was resumed following a couple of weeks of Pete, Paul, Sascha and Steve holding the fort. At the break Dave displayed the Trophies won in this years league competitions - only the 5 !
Dave returned to the club this week for an hour or two following his illnes s. Good to see him back and on the road to recovery. Unfortunately Dave setup the Tuck Shop before the King arrived which caused much discussion about "product placement" and the "returns per square foot" on the table. At some stage during the evening chess was played.
Dave was taken ill last week so everyone stepped up and helped out setting up and organising everyone in playing games. A slightly lower than normal turnout but it is the holidays...
